Disarmament and peace

In one definition of politics, it was defined as the art of war and peace. However, a definition of politics is the art of war and peace to disarm. Not just in the literal sense! There are also metaphorical meanings of "arms," such as economic weapons like boycotts and sanctions. All of these are based on the economic interests of countries, institutions, and international companies in the arms trade, although beliefs and ideas play a secondary role in this regard. The success of arms through war is crucial, and it encourages its continuation for the sake of financial gain for those institutions, regardless of the human cost!

The political tensions between the Republican and Democratic parties in the United States regarding the disarmament of individuals is a prime example of disarmament for the sake of peace. Despite the Democratic campaigns to enforce disarmament laws, President Trump remains one of the strongest opponents of disarmament, despite the frequent and horrific incidents of violence that occur. All this is justified by the argument that the possession of firearms by American citizens for self-defense against evil is necessary. However, does this American concept apply to our Arab region as well?

Disarming in our Arab region remains the main objective of disarmament negotiations, specifically targeting resistance groups in the region. This requires no concessions on their part. All previous negotiations, regardless of method or time, have focused on disarming the Palestinian resistance. This resistance, in recent years, has significantly weakened the Syrian army's defense capabilities, and continues to advance towards eliminating any resistance posed by Iranian-backed factions in Lebanon, such as Hezbollah. The recent strike by the entity in Syria against the Ministry of Defense provides clear evidence of what disarmament means for achieving peace!

Also, for the military, the commercial arms market thrives due to the efficiency of weapons through warfare. When the war broke out between India and Pakistan, the effectiveness of the Pakistani Air Force was evident in the battles, which highlighted the effectiveness of Chinese weapons and increased international demand for them. But can small and medium-sized countries buy weapons from the West or the East as they please? The answer is definitely no, ladies and gentlemen. Small countries that have strategic agreements with Western countries do not have the flexibility and space to diversify their weapons. However, the size and type of weapons are not a deterrent or a means of defense against enemies. Large countries use weapons to achieve two main political and economic goals: dominance and control over the country that purchases the weapons, as well as economic benefits from their purchase. We will not allow any power to rise through the purchase of weapons by a country that controls its own affairs.

There is no permanent peace or war. No matter how long a period of peace lasts in a country that believes it is safe, it will eventually come to an end. The status quo is not permanent. The power of arms gives you deterrence and the freedom to make decisions, and the enemies of the nation do not want it to be free from the yoke of colonialism. It is therefore permissible to lull the colonizer or the other term for the occupier with plans for reconstruction. But this is impossible, because thought comes before action. Working towards this requires a methodical approach with fixed and modified plans based on the results achieved.

The overall goal is to eliminate any political resistance through both war and peace, so that all resisting systems or governments can be forced to surrender. This involves stripping them of their sovereignty and forcing them to surrender through agreement on terms, as dictated by the dominant powers. If one looks at history, one sees that all have tried to control the world according to their own beliefs and interests, using the tools of disarmament to defeat their opponents. The days are different; one day you are victorious, the next you are defeated.
