Privacy notice

Mysem · Knowledge · Insights · Opportunities

This notice explains what personal data Mysem — the café and seminar hall in Qatar — collects through this platform, why, how we protect it, and your rights under Qatar's Law No. 13 of 2016 on the Protection of Personal Data Privacy.

What we do not need from you

You can read the reflection of the day, the menu, events and articles without an account and without giving us any data. We never ask for a password, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

What we collect and why

  • Your account: your mobile number and name, and your email if you add one. You sign in with a one-time code sent by SMS, so no password is ever stored.
  • Orders: what you order, how you receive it (dine in, takeaway or delivery), a delivery address when needed, and the payment status. We do not store card details; online payments are handled by the payment provider.
  • Loyalty programme: a ledger of your points, stamps, rewards and vouchers, so your balance is always accurate.
  • Event and course registrations: your registration, ticket and check-in at the door.
  • Feedback: what you write to us and any photos or voice notes you attach. These are stored privately and seen only by the Mysem team handling your feedback.
  • Participation: questions you ask during live seminars and your entries in contests, polls and surveys. Approved questions may appear on the hall screen, never with your phone number.
  • Notifications: if you allow push notifications, we keep your browser's subscription to send ticket and order updates. You can turn them off at any time.

Analytics and cookies

We use our own cookie-free analytics — for example, to know how many guests opened the menu from the code on a cup. We do not store your IP address; visits are grouped by a hashed identifier that changes every day, so they cannot be linked across days or traced back to you. These statistics are deleted after thirteen months.

The only cookies we set are essential ones: your sign-in session, form protection, and your language preference.

Marketing messages

We only send news about seminars, courses and offers if you have explicitly agreed, and you can stop them at any time from your account. Service messages (sign-in codes, registration confirmations, order updates) are part of the service you asked for.

Who we share data with

Only the minimum needed with our SMS provider (to deliver codes and alerts), our online payment provider (when you pay online) and the hosting provider that runs the platform. We disclose data to no one else unless the law requires it.

Your rights

  • Access and export: download a copy of your data at any time from “My data” in your account.
  • Correction: edit your name, email and preferences in your profile.
  • Deletion: delete your account from your account page. Afterwards we keep only the order and payment records the law requires, de-identified where possible.
  • Objection: you may object to processing or withdraw your marketing consent at any time.

Security and retention

Data travels over encrypted connections, and only team members who need it for their role can see it. Account data is kept while the account exists; sign-in codes are kept for one day only.

Contact us

For any question about your data or these terms, speak to the Mysem team at the café, or send us a note from the “Share your feedback” page.

We may update this notice when our services change, and will publish the new version on this page.
